A man decided to use a jet pack powered by hydrogen-peroxide to fly 1,500 feet over the Royal Gorge near Canon City. The name of this daredevil is Eric Scott and he admitted that this flight was like nothing else he had done in the past, stating he has never gone so far and had such a tremendous spread underneath him. The jet pack can fly for about 33 seconds at speeds of more than 70 mph. The Royal Gorge, is transversed by the Arkansas River in southern Colorado, and is more than 1,100 feet deep.
Scott works for Denver-based Jet P.I., which has developed the futuristic-looking jet pack used for stunts, promotions and other events around the world for the company Go Fast Sports & Beverage.
