The Best Rates On Bank CDs
Filed under: websites; No CommentsToday I found a first-class internet resource for anyone who is seeking the best CD rates. The internet site that I am referring to is located at SelectCDRates.com, and I certainly recommend visiting it if you are seeking or considering placing funds into a Bank CD. Whenever purchasing a CD, you might as well ensure you get the best possible rate, in order to earn as much interest as possible. Visiting the Select CD Rates website is definitely a lot easier than calling many banks for rates, or even visiting the websites of many banks in order to do a comparison.
The SelectCDRates.com website does the hard work for you, and makes it easy to view the data on a variety of bank CD rates. It provides data on all kinds of CD options, such as those that are for six months, one or two years, or even five year CDs. Rates can be quickly viewed and organized by state, so you can view only those that are relevant to you. The data compiled and shown on SelectCDRates.com is very easy to read as its neatly organized in a table format. This makes it an extremely quick task to find the best CD rates for you. Make sure to check them out whenever you’re looking for a bank CD.

Skype Comes To The iPhone!
Filed under: mobile; No CommentsI have been using Skype to make cheap overseas calls, as well as free Skype to Skype calls for at least a few years now. Frankly, I can’t believe so many people actually pay large long distance fees when a service like Skype is available. I have been able to call my overseas friends for free, once they finally agreed to sign up with Skype! I also love doing video calls, as its a great opportunity to see those who are dear to me, but physically far away.
So, today I was quite excited when I found out that Skype is now available on the iPhone. You can use Skype for the iPhone by going to the Apple App Store and downloading the application. It provides everything you know and love about Skype, and lets you use it from your best friend aka iPhone!

Reach Your Sales Potential
Filed under: business; No CommentsHaving worked in a comission-based position during the nineties, I know that using tested sales techniques can make a huge difference when closing deals. Such techniques are most important in times like these, where finances are tight and people are generally spending less.
For those who work on comission, or in a sales related position, I would recommend taking some sales training courses, or taking in a lecture from a sales management speaker. Education is very important for sales related positions, and the techniques you’ll learn may just make the difference in surviving this recession.

Use Microsoft Word 2007 Your Way!
Filed under: software; No CommentsIf you’re like me, you get attached to certain softwares as using them becomes natural, easy, and barely requires a second thought. Unfortunately, many times when we upgrade to the newer versions of different softwares there is a steep learning curve. We then having to learn where all the functions and features that we normally use are kept, and it can be very frustrating. This can be especially true with softwares that we have been using for along time, such as Microft office products like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Publisher.
Often times it is not even our choice whether to upgrade or not, as company policies dictate the decision, or their are compability issues with older software products. One recent example of this happening to me is with Microsoft updates such as the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista (I mean, who didn’t have troubles with that one?) Also, the change from Microsoft Word 2003 to Microsoft Word 2007 was a difficult one for me, as I had been using Microsoft Word 2003 for many years, and felt like I knew it like the back of my hand.
When starting with Microsoft 2007 I was forced to start learning where all the toolbar items and functions I had been used to for years were kept. Frankly, I found the new version of Word to be very non user friendly, and was generally unhappy with the product. Thankfully, there is a download which can restore the classic menu toolbars which are found in Microsoft 2003, to Microsoft 2007. So instead of being frustrating with trying to get used to the newer Microsoft Word, you can simply download the Classic Style Menus and Toolbars for Microsoft Word 2007 product, and be get back to work as usual.
You can find such a download at addintools.com, which is a website that I really like as they offer classic menu downloads for many Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook and Access. Now if only they could fix my Vista issues…

Honest Web Hosting Information
Filed under: websites; No CommentsAs someone who runs a multitude of websites I firmly acknowledge that choosing a quality web hosting provider, which offers both reliable customer service and significant up-time, is often the difference between the headaches of tech issues, and a successful website. For example, if somebody tries to visit your website for the first time, only to find it is not up and running, do you really think they will return? They probably won’t. For these reasons, I strongly recommend doing extensive research before choosing a web host.
To make your web hosting research easier, I would suggest visiting the Web Hosting Geeks website, which is located at Webhostinggeeks.com. The Web Hosting Geeks is an excellent resource for honest reviews on a variety of web hosting companies. What’s great about The Web Hosting Geeks is that they make it easy to find a web host that suits your specific needs, by providing information on cheap hosting, unix hosting, dedicated hosting, and pretty much any other kind of hosting you can think of!
So if you’re considering a new web hosting provider, you’ll be able to make an informed choice by visiting The Web Hosting Geeks website. There you can find a host that interests you, and then read reviews of said host which are written by users just like you and me.

Rock Band Franchise Reaches One Billion Sales
Filed under: gaming; No CommentsSince its unveiling to the public in 2007, the Rock Band gaming franchise has become a house hold name, and a main stream success. It’s popularity has continued to grow, as more and more folks tap into their childhood dreams of rock stardom. In fact, the Rock Band simulation series has now reached a tremendous milestone: one billion dollars in sales. These stats are according to gaming company Electronic Arts, who recently sent out a press release with the information.
The monetization behind the Rock Band series is really very clever, as they gain revenue not only from the sales of the games themselves, but also from the forty million downloadable tracks connected to the games. There’s no end in sight for Rock Band, either, as they are set to release a new edition of the popular series, which will feature music from The Beatles!

Shopping For Furniture
Filed under: websites; No CommentsIf you’re a regular reader of this blog, you may remember from previous posts that I have been seeking a good amount of furniture for my new home. While I have found some truly lovely pieces at various places, I am notoriously picky with this house, as its somewhat of a dream home for me (even though it’s just a tiny place in the suburbs). Also, a major problem has been agreeing on items with my husband, as we have very different tastes in decoration!
There are a few pieces of gorgeous Italian bedroom furniture that we are currently considering, and I like the selection found on the eroomservice.com website. In fact, they have so many lovely furniture items that’s its hard to even narrow it down to my favorites. I plan on showing the website to my husband when he arrives home from work, and maybe there will even be some items that we both love.
Also, what’s neat is that E Room Service has some very modern platform beds for sale on their website. I’ve wanted at platform bed for sometime now, as I think they look very trendy, and would match our place perfectly. The prices for the models on the eroomservice.com website are quite reasonable too. Now I just have to get my husband on board so we can pick something out!

Oh, How I Enjoy My Bed
Filed under: websites; No CommentsAs a new parent it sure seems like a long time since I’ve had a good, full night’s sleep, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get to enjoy my nice comfy bed. In fact, one of my favorite thing to do on weekends is laze around with my husband and young son, playing with toys and watching movies on our cozy bed.
Before I had my husband and child, I used to like to spend that time relaxing in bed with great novel, especially on rainy days. There’s just something about reading to the sound of raindrops that is so very relaxing.
I believe that investing in quality bedding and bedroom furniture is a must for anyone who enjoys spending time in bed, even if its just for a good nights sleep. One website that I would recommend visiting when seeking bedroom furniture, is Time4Sleep.Co.UK, as they have a great selection of bedroom items, such as some very attractive metal beds that I’ve been eyeing. I just love the look of a metal bed, and it would go in so well with my current decor. Also, having a lovely bed just makes lounging around in it so much better!
Time 4 Sleep offers reasonable prices, great photos of their merchandise and even free delivery on orders which exceed 499 euros. It’s an easy to navigate website, so certainly check it out when seeking new bedroom furniture.

Microsoft Slams Mac On Pricing
Filed under: technology; No CommentsOkay, maybe slam is a bit of a harsh word in this case, but in reality that’s what’s its meant to be. Microsoft has released a new commercial advertisement that takes aim at Apple for being too expensive for consumers in these tough economic times.
Check out the YouTube video of the commercial below if you want to see Microsoft’s new advertising angle for yourself. The consumer in question wants a capable laptop with a seventeen inch screen for under one thousand bucks, and surprise surprise, Mac doesn’t offer one. At the end of the day, she gets what she wants for only seven hundred dollars, and guess what, it’s a PC.
