Ask.com Brings Back Their Butler!
Filed under: technology, websites;Ask.com is set to reintroduce a sort of internet blast from the past in their old school butler, named Jeeves. Jeeves was removed from the Ask.com website back in 2006 when the search engine company decided to go in a different direction in an effort to compete with Google. Ask.com has reportedly told the BBC that they are bringing back Jeeves as part of the website because of strong user demand. It kind of sounds unlikely that users were actually demanding to have Jeeves back, especially after all of this time, but I guess it could be true.
Ask.com also states that they have experienced a twenty percent growth in users this year, and that they are in no way struggling. They also mentioned that Jeeves is intended to provide search engine results in a more personal way. However, many believe that the search engine is indeed struggling, as Google has dominated the search engine market for quite some time now and shows no signs of slowing down. Anywho, the story got my attention and I may even run a search or two over at Ask.com today.
