Having worked in a comission-based position during the nineties, I know that using tested sales techniques can make a huge difference when closing deals. Such techniques are most important in times like these, where finances are tight and people are generally spending less.

For those who work on comission, or in a sales related position, I would recommend taking some sales training courses, or taking in a lecture from a sales management speaker. Education is very important for sales related positions,  and the techniques you’ll learn may just make the difference in surviving this recession.
