Holy Moly, are video games really recession proof? It sure seems that way, as Capcom came out today and released figures that show they heav shipped over four million copies of their new Resident Evil title. Amazingly, said title was just released to the public less than a week ago! It’s clearly the biggest release for any of the Resident Evil series, and shows that interest in the series is still growing in epic proportions.

So far, the series as a whole has sold over forty million copies globally, which is obviously a huge amount, and it certainly looks  though that number will grow much larger. Capcom also mentioned that they will continue to market the games through unique channels such as movies and mobile phone applications.
