Space Vacations To Become A Reality
Filed under: technology; Are you the kind of person who loves to spend an evening star gazing with a telescope? Or perhaps a night in front of the television watching star trek strikes your fancy? Or just maybe, as a child, you often looked forward to heading off to space camp in the summer? Well, if any of these sound like you, you’ll probably be interested in some very out of this world, as well as very expensive, vacations that will soon be available.
I say this because it’s news today that the owners of Sweden’s Ice Hotel, have partnered with the folks at Virigin Atlantic, and the two companies plan to jointly offer “space journeys” by 2012. They plan to fly customers 110 kilometers above earth, over an area of Northern Sweden, called Kiruna. Visitors will experience the Aurora Borealis from this height.
How much is a ticket? The estimate cost will be $200,000 per traveler. So, if you’re interested, you’d better start saving now!
